Vegetables A la Tractor Tire

Prepare container: Turn two large tractor tires inside-out and cut in half. Place small side down and line the bottom with newspapers.

Prepare ingredients:
8 cubic feet peat
1 heaping tractor bucket sheep manure (well cured)
1 heaping tractor bucket corral dirt
4 strong boys
1 supervisor

Layer manure, dirt and then peat in 3-6 inch layers, repeat 2-3 times
Plant desired vegetables
Garnish with sawdust and/or grass clippings on outside of tire
Cover and bake until sprouted
Water as necessary
Uncover and finish to desired doneness.
Several rows of peas or radishes on the side adds to the presentation of the overall dish as does a side of raspberries.

  5. What a cool idea! What a cool life to have spare life-sized tires to make a beautiful garden. Alas we are not cool enough to have huge tractor tires lying around.
