Caracol, Belize

Caracol rivals the Mayan city of Tikal in size but is relatively new as far as archeological excavation goes.
A man (who grew up in Sugar city and has lived here since 1983) we met at church offered to drive us to Caracol (147 miles over rough road). He took us in his 1990 Lincoln Continental Town Car, dragging bottom often as we went. He drove it as if it were a truck. He is 78 years old and married a 21 year old 10 years ago. They now have twin girls a year and a half old. He would like two more. We listened to cassettes of Connie Francis and Perry Como on the way. A character if I ever met one.
